It was with great pleasure that the European Network of Maritime Clusters (ENMC) welcomed the maritime stakeholders at the European Shipping Week to discuss the future of the European maritime industry and the economics of the clusters behind it.
The President of the ENMC, Arjen Uytendaal welcomed the new Commissioner Sinkeviçius (Environment, Oceans and Fisheries) who addressed in his speech the incredible potential of the offshore renewable sector. He called out for the maritime clusters to be pioneers. Financing the future was a topic as well: one of the recent examples is the just introduce BlueInvest Fund. The commissioner highlighted the importance of the co-programmed Partnership zero emission waterborne transport in the new Horizon Europe program. His call for “getting the EU Green deal more Blue, and the Blue more Green” was welcome by the sector.

The European Network of Maritime Cluster is looking forward to continue the dialogue and will host the second stakeholder meeting in September in Brussels.
